You must not consider your helmet only as an accessory, or worse, a status symbol.
It will do its utmost, it will break instead of you, it will protect you, but in return it asks of you the minimum amount of knowledge and cooperation .

HELMET CHOICE
Choose your helmet considering the final use and the kind of protection you whish to receive.
The full face helmet gives a better protection for your chin and mouth and a better stability in case of impacts.

HOMOLOGATION
Be sure that your helmet is ECE 22.05 approved. Check the label sewn on the chinstrap the first two numbers show the amendment IT SHOULD BE 05. On the label, inside a small circle you’ll find the letter E with a number, which corresponds to the country where the helmet has been approved (E1= Germany E2=France E3=Italy E4=Holland, etc).

Do not buy helmets for which you don’t know its place of origin, be sure that besides the homologation label there is also the complete name and address of the helmet producer.
Check where the helmet has been produced , if you are unsure , DO NOT BUY IT, it’s your life.

HELMET SIZE
To find your helmet size, take a tailor's tape measure and measure the circumference of your head above your ears.
Try the helmet of the corresponding size on; it must not be loose (able to move from side to side or back and forth) nor must it be constrictive.
Try to roll the helmet off your head by tilting your head forwards as shown in fig 1; if the helmet comes off easily then it is not the right fit for your head; try the next size down.

HELMET USE

You must always wear a well-fitting helmet, one that fits snugly and that is fastened in such a way that it cannot move from side to side or back and forth. It is important to wear the right sized helmet, one that is neither so small as to be constrictive, nor so large that it might move about whilst driving.

Make sure that the chinstrap is properly fastened and adjusted so that it keeps your helmet in place while driving.
